Oct. 7 (Start of the trek) Drukgyal Dzong to Shana
A gentle walk of about six hours makes a fine first day trek. The fast-flowing Pachhu River was our constant companion, as we hiked gently up the valley through small isolated villages, pleasant farmhouses, colorful fields of potatoes, millet and wheat. We camped in a beautiful meadow below a rustic small village near the Boarder Army Post.
